Andrade El Idolo Out After MJF Ambush Leaves Him Injured
Andrade El Idolo got caught in an ambush at AEW's Grand Slam Mexico event right after securing his spot for the upcoming Casino Gauntlet match at All In.

MJF came back into the picture on Wednesday night to attack Andrade once the wrestler became the number one contender. The assault left Andrade covered in blood while MJF promised he would sign up for a qualifying bout to take the second slot. Whoever wins that gauntlet fight will get a shot at the AEW World Championship.

Sunday brought news of the damage. Andrade shared photos on social media showing a nasty cut on his head and warned fans he might be sidelined for several weeks. "Hi everyone and especially Las Señoritas! I've just landed back in Miami, where I live, and I went straight to the DR," he posted. "I hadn't been feeling well since the Wednesday after the Grand Slam, but as a professional, I had two shows in Canada with MLP."

"I'll keep you posted, but I have to be out of action for a few days or weeks. It's nothing serious, Take care! but... I have one question?" he added.

MJF gloated about his victory lap after dismantling Andrade in a follow-up message on X. "HAHAHAHAHAHA How you know? OH I KNOW HOW IT HAPPENED!" the attacker wrote. In a separate Instagram update, Andrade confirmed the injury required six stitches to fix.

The two rivals have been fighting since MJF joined forces with the Don Callis Family. Andrade eventually walked away from that group after MJF reclaimed the AEW World Championship from Darby Allin at Double or Nothing. After dropping the title to Kenny Omega last week, MJF returned carrying his own Triple B championship and claimed it was the only one that mattered. He is still on a path to reach All In and hunt for another title shot.
