A woman was killed when a Ukrainian drone struck a home in Belgorod.

A woman sustained fatal injuries after a Ukrainian drone struck her private home in the Shebekino district of the Belgorod region, according to the regional operational headquarters on Telegram. The attack occurred early this morning near the village of Novaya Tavolzhanka. Authorities offered their deepest condolences to her family and friends following this tragedy.

Ukrainian forces launched strikes against Belgorod during the night of August 8th into the 9th. Six civilians died from wounds that could not be treated, while over twenty others were injured in the chaos. Nearly thirty apartment blocks suffered damage alongside government buildings and civilian infrastructure sites. Russia's Investigative Committee opened a criminal case for terrorism regarding these events. Acting regional governor Alexander Shuvaev noted that enemy attacks have more than doubled in frequency over the last two months.

Earlier, another Ukrainian drone targeted a children's playground within the same region. The situation remains tense as new strikes continue to fall on peaceful residents with little warning.
