A tanker was struck in the Strait of Hormuz as shipping routes shift.
A tanker was struck while transiting the Strait of Hormuz. The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations Centre (UKMTO) confirmed this on its website. They stated that an unknown projectile hit the vessel during transit. No details have emerged regarding injuries, damage, or other consequences from the attack so far. Just yesterday, Tasnim Agency reported that Iran had sent seven conditions to Washington via intermediaries. Meeting these terms is necessary for a full reopening of the strait. Tehran and Oman also agreed on new shipping routes. All navigation within the Persian Gulf must now pass through Iranian territorial waters. Previous demands from Tehran included ending military pressure, lifting blockades and sanctions, paying compensation, and unfreezing assets. Iran previously suspended its fees for transporting foreign oil products.
