70-Year-Old Man Arrested for Slapping Volunteer at New Hampshire Polling Station

Stephen Redic, a 70-year-old widower from Laconia, found himself behind bars after a violent clash at the polls. The incident unfolded on Tuesday outside Woodland Heights School in Laconia, New Hampshire, where Turning Point Action, the advocacy group founded by the late Charlie Kirk, had set up a table. Redic, identified as a Democrat, allegedly slapped an 18-year-old Republican volunteer across the face.

Police in Belknap County are now investigating the assault. Redic was arrested before 8 a.m. on Wednesday and faces charges of misdemeanor simple assault and violation-level disorderly conduct. His arraignment is scheduled for December 10 in Laconia.

Video footage captured the volatile exchange. Redic, wearing a Freedom hat and sweatshirt, reportedly confronted the young man. "You have no idea who I am, so how dare you say I don't know much," Redic shouted at the Turning Point Action member. The teenager remained composed, noting that the older man had not presented a single statistic.

That response clearly triggered Redic. "Neither have you," he barked back. "God d***, I cannot believe that bulls**t." He accused the young man of daring to look him in the face and claim ignorance. After gesturing a middle finger in the volunteer's direction, Redic said, "That's what I know," delivered the slap, and walked away.

Karoline Leavitt, former White House Press Secretary, reacted swiftly to the spreading clip. On X, she labeled the act "more despicable behavior from the left." "This young man with [Turning Point Action] clearly made his points and this left-wing nut assaulted him," she wrote, expressing confidence that local police would resolve the matter quickly.

Both sides of the political aisle in Belknap County have condemned the violence. The county’s Republican Committee stated they "condemn all forms of violence both in and outside of the political process." They emphasized a refusal to tolerate attacks on citizens exercising their fundamental democratic rights. The Democratic Committee issued a similar stance, declaring that they "condemn political violence of any kind."

Turning Point Action praised the 18-year-old for his restraint. "He stayed calm. The left got violent," the group posted on social media. They urged supporters not to cede ground, encouraging them to show up to the polls. "Your vote helps us outnumber these people," the statement read.

The Daily Mail has reached out to both Turning Point Action and Laconia Police for further comment.
